At Helm Nejad Stanley, we will take a holistic approach to your wisdom teeth removal. We implement a safe and conservative approach to your dental surgery that will foster long-term results for you and your smile.
The removal of your wisdom teeth has nothing to do with wisdom at all. However, there are wise choices you can make in order to promote a good recovery. Here a few tips for your postoperative wisdom teeth removal.
- Swelling and bruising is to be expected and is normal. It typically reaches its pinnacle at around 72 hours after your surgery. Minimizing your swelling is important. Use ice packs wrapped in a soft towel to reduce and minimize any swelling. Bruising will eventually disappear on its own.
- Keep your lips moisturized with natural lip balms to prevent chapping or cracking. Consider using beeswax or coconut oil as a natural moisturizer for your lips.
- Give your body proper nourishment to help aid in your healing process. Choose a liquid diet and avoid sucking it through a straw. Try drinking juices, ginger ale or a clear broth. Eventually you can try eating soft foods such as potatoes or noodles. Be sure to follow the timeline our doctors give you for when to commence to eat soft foods and eventually resume your normal diet.
- Be sure to take the medications prescribed to you. To naturally relieve some of your pain and also reduce any stress you may be feeling, you can also try applying diluted lavender oil to the area of your surgery on the outside of your cheek. Lavender essential oil offers a natural relaxing relief.
