What are dental implants?

Dental implants are a permanent solution to restore missing teeth. They are made of the same medical grade titanium as hip and joint implants, only placed into the jaw bone. The implant is then left to heal and attach completely to the bone for the next 4-6 months. This stage is called osseointegration. Once the bone is healed around the implant, a dental implant crown can be attached to the implant with the help of an abutment. Dental implant crowns look and feel just like natural teeth.

Implant Case #1:

This implant case involved the entire mouth. There are 8 implants on the top and 4 on the bottom. The patient wanted a natural-looking smile that did not look fake. Pink porcelain was used to restore the missing gum tissue.

This is a wonderful single-tooth implant case. The patient wanted a natural-looking tooth that matched the rest of the smile, so no one would be able to tell that they had an implant done.

Implant Case #3:

This implant case involved the entire upper arch. Most of the teeth on the top needed to be removed and implants placed, making this a very complex case. We were able to give the patient a brighter smile to match their personality!

Are dental implants noticeable?

Dental implants should not be noticeable to others. If your dentist uses proper surgical technique and top quality materials it will be your secret!

Can I eat the same diet with dental implants?

Following dental implant treatment, most patients are able to go back to eat all of their favorite foods.

How long does it take to recover?

The average recovery process from dental implants is 4-6 months.

Do dental implants hurt?

The jawbone has no pain fibers so any discomfort that you might experience comes from the gums. Usually, most patients take only Ibuprofen for the pain. After about three days even that is unnecessary.

How many appointments for dental implants?

The dental implant surgery itself is done in one appointment. Of course other appointments are necessary for diagnostic work like creating models or treatment planning. After the implant is placed, usually two appointments are needed to place the tooth on the implant.

Permanent Dentures

Permanent dentures are often done in a few appointments. With some new techniques, patients can come in one day with failing teeth or loose dentures and leave the same day with a full set of fixed teeth on implants.

Guided Implant Surgery

Guided surgery is the solution! With guided surgery, the patient will have a 3D CT scan completed and then based on this scan, we can plan the implant procedure from start to finish and pick the proper implant based on your individual needs. Additionally, the location and angulation of the implant can be perfectly controlled to make sure the final result is very natural and this avoids bulky or un-natural results which occur from poor planning.

As demonstrated in the video, Dr. Stanley uses state-of-the-art technology to ensure that your implant is placed perfectly. Using a 3D scan of your skull and jaw, he is able to virtually place the implant for the best rate of success.

Dental Implant Guide Beverly Hills — A precisely fitting surgical guide can be fabricated and used during your implant placement. This ensures the implant is placed exactly as planned.

The Surgical Guide

After the implant is planned digitally, a surgical guide is made using state-of-the-art software to make sure the implant is placed exactly where it should be according to the scan (see picture). The surgical guide is fitted and placed in the patient's mouth during surgery to literally guided the drill in the exact spot where it is planned to be.
